Wednesday Funday

Make 50 FTs to start practice. Nice breeze this afternoon.

Just finished. Micah left halfway through to attend Roosevelt practice. We did a lot of shouting reps and a lot of offensive set deills with shooting, mainly Monday and Tuesday at full speed.

A lot of our sets are not being executed at full speed during varsity and JV games because we have several guys who never got the maximum reps in the past and also because of a lack of practice time.

Tenchi went hard sometimes. Went slow other times. (He says the Kenny Patton workouts wear him down.) It's interesting to see what kind of potential he has as an all-around player. He can be a wing when he drives hard and moves with authority. And shoots with proper form.

Chaz got in a lot of running after practice: 102 laps (baseline to halfcourt). That adds up to 1.1 miles. Not bad. On Maui, we'll be playing 44-minute games, which means 3-plus miles of running per game. We have 2 games on Tuesday and 3 games on Wednesday and Thursday -- JV and intermediate combined.

The guys who come to practice will get in shape. The rest will suffer from lack of conditioning and suffer on Maui unless they get their 5-10 miles of running done every day.

When we went to Kona last year, games were long but we had 12 or 13 guys. We have half that number for this trip. Get in the best shape of your life, win a championship or two and achieve greatness. It's up to you.
