18U: Thunder 56, Central Kauai 41

Aiea 18U Tournament
Great comeback win for the Thunder. Only 7 strong, but it was a strong 7. They trailed 14-3 and came back with the press. Central Kauai had a very tall team, Coach Bo said, but had big problems covering our guards (Isaiah Visoria, Haka Iamhaka Johnson, Nate Mantanona). Tai Boyd played solid as our "stretch 5" and Brent Quackenbush had a huge game down low on dishes from the guards on the drive. Coach Bo added that Sierra Murobayashi (clutch 3-point shooting) and Cody Ogoso also played super good.

WAY TO GO THUNDER!

Next: Saturday, 11:30 am - Thunder 18U vs. Hoops4Christ. Dangerous team. They always have a few scorers and some height. We've always managed to get by them with our depth, wearing them down with our pressure defense.

Also: Saturday, 2:50 pm - Thunder 18U vs. Lanakila. Big test again. If we beat Hoops4Christ, we probably clinch a spot in the championship bracket on Sunday. Winning two of the three pool-play games is a necessity. Winning all three would be a blessing.
