Saturday wrap

I'm going to start combining the posts that are on Facebook into one single post here on the blog. Why? I'm guessing it's easier to track down information when it's all gathered together rather than spread out, particularly on e-mail or the blog.

On Facebook, it's a different format and mentality. Different topics in different notifications work fine.

## Good news, bad news ##
We won our early game against Kaiser by around 25 pts at le jardin league.
Then we went to Aiea JV tourney and lost to Kahuku and lost by 10. We led by 6 in 2nd half. Kahuku banked on 3 3-pointers during game and hit 3 or 4 more to take lead.

That knocked us out of contention for the title. It's a bitter taste because we have the talent to win this. Just not getting consistency on both ends and fatigue has hurt us. The lack of practice time hurts. I'm hoping we keep balling, and play smarter. A lot of little things we want to improve on in these next 3 games today and Sunday.

We lost Chris to a ankle injury in the first half while he protected the rim. He sat out the rest of the day. He can put some weight on it, but that will need some time to heal.

## H1 Thunder 58, Central Kauai 39 ##
Aiea JV tournament
Won our final pool game. Got a lot better decision making from everyone. Solid work from our bench esp with our older guys getting weary from two earlier games.
We play Sunday 9 am in consolation play against Waipahu Elite or LBC. We win that, we play a final game at 1220 pm. Planning on finishing strong and improving as a team and individually.
WE LOVE THIS GAME!!

## Scores? ##
Anybody know the exact final scores of our Le Jardin League game (vs. Kaiser) and Aiea JV tournament game today vs. Kahuku? Mahalo.

## BIG MAHALOS ##
So many today as we commuted to the Windward side, zoomed across and to Aiea.
** Big Mahalo to the Apuya ohana (Yolie and Jason) for picking up Chris and Tani Mosi. They were helping with a fundraiser when their dad gave them permission to leave early for our 11:30 am game at the Aiea JV tourney. So the Apuyas left our game at Le Jardin early to go back to Kalihi and pick up the brothers. Thank you, Apuyas smile emoticon

** Big Mahalo to Joel (Jonah's dad) for shooting the video for our Kaiser and Kahuku games today. I try to give parents the chance to enjoy the games without the distraction of shooting video, but we were shorthanded and Joel volunteered. Mahalo, Joel!

** Big Mahalo to Sierra's dad, Eric, for sharing a cooler of ice-cold bottled waters with us after they were done with her Islanderz fundraiser. That really came in handy on a hot afternoon in what was the third game of the day for most of the Thunder.

** Also, Big Mahalo to the parents who transported Jance and Keanu from Le Jardin to Aiea. My car is always a bit cramped with the basketballs and box of uniforms (and Powerades), so the kids were probably relieved to have some actual leg and arm space.
