CAL League 13U Gold Division, Kilauea gym
We came back from a 24-18 deficit with about 3 minutes left. Jonah and Ryan scored on strong 3-point plays as we tied it at 25 to force overtime. Ryan actually stole a pass at halfcourt and missed a long shot at the buzzer.
Then it was free-throw shootout time. Jhevin hit. The first FT. Voyagers missed theirs. Jonah missed our next FT and they made theirs. Ryan missed and the Voyagers had their chance to win but missed.
In the next round , it was sudden death. Skyler practically begged for a chance to shoot and Ryan pushed for him too. Sky stepped up and swished his FT. Clutch against his Kaimuki Middle School friends. The Voyagers them missed theirs and we got a tough win. Great comeback Thunder!
Lineup: Jayla, Matthew, Skyler, Jayden, Jance, Jhevin, Jonah, Ryan.
Not present: Jason (camp), Walter, Chaz, Trinity.
Next:
Saturday, 10:00 am - Practice at Makiki Park.
Sunday, 4:00 pm - 13U practice at Makiki Park. Older Thunder (JV/V) welcome for optional shooting drills.
Note: 13U plays Saturday, June 27, 5:15 pm vs. Swish, Kilauea gym.
