Kamehameha 37, H1 Thunder 30 (V)

Kalani Varsity League
Always a nice challenge to take on the Warriors and Coach Greg Tacon. His teams (Punahou, Moanalua) in the past were man-to-man teams and his KS team is no different.

When we have a unit that is well trained in halfcourt man offense, points aren't hard to come by. But the lack of reps and practice time for most of our older guys continues to show especially since turnout has been down the past 4 weeks.

Against lesser teams, raw talent and 1-on-1 ability usually wins. Against sound defensive teams with size and athleticism, execution is crucial as Coach Bino has said.

So Is smart team defense and we got that tonight most of the time. Just needed a lot better boxing out and offensive execution. Until we get more bodies, particulally the older guys, at practice, our younger guys who already know how to execute and play team defense will continue to get key minutes. They've put in the reps and sacrifice over the past 1, 2, 3 years.

I'm hoping our older guys make the effort to show up for practice whenever possible. It's heartbreaking to compete so well only to give opportunities away because guys don't execute or even know basic plays. That can be fixed, so I am still optimistic about winning every remaining game in this league.

Lineup: Jayden, Jance, Colin, Kalia, Radyn, Sierra, Micah, Keanu, Kapaa, Tenchi, Ryan, Chase. We are 1-1 in this league. Top 2 will play fir the title.
WE LOVE THIS GAAAAME!!
