No Ikaika League

Just got an e-mail from the Ikaika League and they couldn't wait any longer for a decision. They're moving on and will have nine teams. If we could've committed fully, we'd be in, but I couldn't give that to the league and director Clay Tang while we have only five kids willing to play.

I think we would've had eight kids given a little more time, but Clay had already extended the deadline by a few days to help us out, so I understand where he's coming from. The league schedule had to be sent out to coaches.

I'm bummed. I know you guys who were ready to play in both the CAL and Ikaika Leagues (Tai, Mike, Josh, Cody, Keanu) just want to get more experience and competition, but it is what it is.

I asked Clay to let the coaches know that we're willing to play any of the teams that have bye weeks, sort of an exhibition game series. He wasn't interested in us participating that way at their site (Manoa Gym), so if he does pass the info along, we'll play their bye-week teams at another site.

We still have plenty to look forward to with CAL League starting this Sunday, 8 a.m. Practice is tomorrow (Thursday 4:30 p.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m.). See you guys then!
