That's right, we're just six days away from the KAC playoffs — 18-minute mini-games — that are on Sunday starting at 3 p.m. The matchup of teams will be determined by draw. We'll have some fun, maybe even win a championship, fellas.
Good to see most of the team at practice yesterday: Sean, Orion, Colby, Tai, Cody, Mike, and the twins (Kerl and Karl) joined us later. Josh, who is still recuperating from the broken pinky finger, was at a birthday party for my twin nephew and niece (4 years old). Kevin? We all wondered where he was. Not a clue, though Shawn suspected Facebook as the culprit.
We had a good workout on a hot afternoon at Kahala Park, followed by the parents' meeting for the CAL (15-under) League. Just before the meeting, we had 15 minutes and everyone wanted to scrimmage. I gave the players a minimum of 20 free throws to make as a team before they could get that reward. It took them about 5 minutes to hit the 20.
Maybe I should've thought about using scrimmages as a carrot sooner! That's the fastest we've hit 20 foul shots all season. Didn't hurt that our new CAL Thunder guys, Blake and Elliott, hit almost all their tries.
Practice on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, gentlemen. Enjoy!
