Thursday funday

Got a strong turnout of 10 Thunder this afternoon, including the guys who hit the pavement earlier for the hill run. The turnout allowed us to scrimmage right away and work on our halfcourt man defense, halfcourt offensive sets and a new play.

We got about 75 minutes of work in. Nothing like a good, long 5-on-5 to develop more chemistry. Working against man defense over a longer stretch than usual also amplifies our strengths and weaknesses individually against constant pressure. That's something we always need when we get the chance to practice. This is the time and place to make mistakes and improve.

The guys who focus on improvement every day get the most work done, and there's room for everybody to get better, to have more to give to his teammates when the battle is on.

Lineup: Colin Micah Ramos (ankle), Ryan Higashionna, Javan Montiho, Josh Roberts, Felcris Jay Corpuz Ahadain, Josh M DE Jesus, Jared Elwin,Kali'a Mielke, Radyn Kaleikini, Chase Santos.

Next: Friday, 5:30 pm - H1 Thunder vs. HomeGrown (CAL 13U), Kilauea gym. Warmups/stretching 4:30 pm on outside court. Potluck BBQ at the Santos' hale after the game.
Saturday, 9:00 am - H1 Thunder vs. Team Lihue (NJB Classic 14U), Palolo gym. Warmups/stretching 8:00 am on outside court. Early-morning game means it's even more crucial to get loosened up and get the blood flowing early.

Below - some post-practice photos. Felcris, Chase, Josh and Radyn did ballhandling drills for about 20-30 minutes.
