She was patient. Sierra Murobayashi's sophomore season began on the JV squad at Maryknoll. Nothing wrong with that when the varsity program is stacked and stocked with immense talent.
The JV Lady Spartans went unbeaten and won the ILH crown, and Sierra was a big part of that with her hustle, IQ and, most of all, that killer long-range accuracy.
The JV season ended in December, and Sierra was promoted to varsity. She practiced every day with them, bided her time and continues to be a reserve guard always ready when her number is called. Maryknoll called her number last week in a win over Sacred Hearts.
She came off the bench firing and hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. It's the beginning of goodness. Congratulations, Thunder #15!
