Monday funday

Hope everybody had a great time today resting up from school and work. We were 4 Thunder strong on this Martin Luther King holiday for optional shooting practice. Jance, Jhevin, Josh R and Trinity worked out for a solid 75 minutes at Makiki Park. At their age (13, 12), repetition and fundamentals work are key. It doesn't guarantee that anyone will become a great shooter, but it is always a step forward, getting better one day at a time, one rep at a time. One percent at a time. After a month, a year, two years, it adds up to incredible results for the guys who work hard on a daily basis year round.

We've had some amazing, awesome and hoopaholic Thunder players in the past few years. Many of them are playing varsity or JV basketball now. The ones who keep working gain the most benefits and give the most benefits to their teams. I couldn't be more proud of them, not just for their success, but for making their families proud.

But for today, I was happy just to see anyone at the outside court, having fun and sweating hard after 10, 50, 100, 200 shots. Lefties, one-handers, every shooting drill that had to do with form and the most basic shots of all. All it takes is one player working hard to inspire me. Seeing 4 was great.

Next: Tuesday, 4:00 pm - Practice at Makiki Park. Practices on Wed, Thur also at 4:00 pm.

WE LOVE THIS GAAAAME!!
