A team dropped out of OBL's varsity division, so they asked me this morning if we are interested. I asked our older guys 3-4 weeks ago about joining this league and nobody responded until last week.
So here's our chance.
1. None of the 17U/18U came to fundraisers and raised money, so the $500 entry fee will have to be paid by these players and parents.
2. Almost all OBL games are at Koko Head gym.
3. Most OBL varsity division games are on Fridays and Saturdays. There is one Sunday date.
4. First game is on March 14 (Friday).
I know Haka Iamhaka Johnson and two of his STL teammates want to play. Not sure about Isaiah Visoria (playing on Sundays in Ikaika League?).
If we have 9 players, that would make it worthwhile. Split the entry fee and each guy pay $65. Anything less than 9 players, too risky. We had a lot of fun last year in the 17U leagues, but there were times we almost forfeited (and actually did at least twice). I don't want to go through that stress anymore.
Let me know by Saturday if you guys are serious. 551-1054.
After this, 17U might play in NJB All-Net. We will probably field a team in the Kalani Summer Varsity League again. No word yet on the St. Francis Summer Varsity League and the Pearl City Summer JV League.
