H1 Thunder 38, Kalakaua Academy 20 (15U)

The early game today was a close one until the final 6 minutes or so. It was physical, a lot of banging and battling for rebounds and loose balls. We had just 7 guys, and one of them was ailing with a stomache on the bench most of the time (Hsien).

Then Kapaa got hot from deep, hitting three or four 3-pointers in a row off our offensive sets. Even Kalakaua's coach, the legendary Mike Taylor, was surprised. We played strong defense, our small lineup of mostly guards, against their beefy guys. Kanehe finished strong, attacking the basket on the fastbreak late in the game. The clock runs through free throws (until the final 2 minutes), so the clock kept ticking in our favor.

Good work. This pushes us to 4-0 in OBL 15U Division play. We're still getting better, day by day, and the challenges get tougher as we go. Good work, Thunder.

Today's lineup: Colin Ramos, Gabriel Parros, Hsien Pascua, Micah Visoria, Joshua de Jesus, Kanehe Nishimura, Kapaa Nishimura.
