PAA 15U Division, Kilauea gym
We were 10 strong tonight thanks to Coach Roy picking up some guys as usual, and some other guys letting me know they could go, so I picked them up after work. That allowed us to platoon 5 in, 5 out in the first half and press fulltime. We led by about 12 in the first half, then we had some basic mistakes in halfcourt offense, stuff that's easily correctible with practice.
OTB was huge, guys 6-2, 6-4, and they never gave up with their speedy guards. They came back and took the lead, but we regained it, and then Josh hit a 3 to open the lead back to 6. OTB came back to tie it, but Kyle hit a big 3 to break a 47-all tie in the final 2 minutes. Then we hung on for the win despite a mistake or two.
Good team win, Thunder! Great, great hustle and defense. That's how we've overcome big teams before and that's how we'll always beat them in the future. 100% heart!
