Ikaika League, Intermediate Division, Lanakila gym
Good to see everyone focused and unified on offense and defense tonight in our last regular-season game. Our reserves played fairly well with a lot of minutes in each half. We led by 30+ at halftime (41-7 or something like that) and gave our starters a lot of rest time, especially in the second half.
Next Inter game is against Just Play next Thursday, playoff matchup. We've got some elements to work on, and with Colin back and healthy, it's one more lethal weapon in our arsenal. We're coming together and starting to peak at the right time as a unit. Well done, Thunder.
We finished Intermediate regular season at 6-1, seeded second in the upcoming playoffs. Most of our Inter players have been suiting up for our JV Division games. There's a real good chance, if we play smart and tough, of winning both championships. Enjoy the ride, Thunder. You're only in 8th grade once, and it is, as I like to say, the sweet spot of youth basketball when you get to play Intermediate, JV and Varsity leagues in the same year.

Friday - No practice.
Saturday, 4:50 pm - Stretching/warmups at McCully gym outside court. 5:50 pm - H1 Thunder vs. Owls (Ikaika JV League).
Sunday, 3:00 pm - Optional shooting practice at Makiki Park.
Sunday, 5:00 pm - Parents meeting at Makiki Park. Topic: Summer leagues and travel.
