It is, in essence, the original Beautiful Game. While the design is wonderful DNA, the guts of the system is work ethic. Like anything else, nothing worth working for is acquired without blood, sweat and tears, and not necessarily in this order.

H1 Thunder 38, LBC 31 (JV)
Ikaika League, JV Division quarterfinal, McCully gym
Defense kept us in this game while our offense was up and down. Great effort and hustle by all 16 Thunder on Saturday night. We got over the hump when we got more consistent with attacking the 2-3 zone inside first, and everybody did well when we went to man defense in the second half. The lead built up to about 12 points in the final 2 minutes. Good, poised work, Thunder!
BIG MAHALO to Brandon Higashionna for shooting the game video so excellently once again.
It was great, great, great to see Keanu Vela at the game. He and his gf Lexie are on vacation from Colorado and they made their way to the gym (on TheBus) to support our young Thunder. I'm very, very proud of Keanu not just for being a scholar-athlete or playing college basketball, but for being true to his faith in the Lord and working hard to fulfill his passion and dreams in basketball. He's always been a great son to his mom and dad, a great older brother to his little brothers and sisters (not so little now!).
Short on time, been editing video, have some things to do but I'll see some of you guys at Makiki Park, 3:00 pm for FT Challenge. If you don't have the forms, let me know (551-1054) and I'll print them out at the shop. Keep collecting sponsors even if you've already shot your free throws, and if you want to shoot again, let me know and you can do them again. Your family and friends want to help you, so give them every opportunity. Ask and you shall receive :)
