Damien Monarchs didn't show up for our 2:00 pm game, so Waipahu filled in after completing their earlier game. They have 14 players, so it was a good opportunity for them.
We were 11 strong today and almost everybody played with great energy on defense. Overall, a good effort by our Thunder, including some smart, quick passing. Our starters played strong most of the time, especially on the fullcourt and halfcourt traps. Our reserves, mostly 13U players, were very effective on the fullcourt press. Our posts were solid working our '45' double-high post play in the final minutes. It's satisfying to see posts who love to pass as much as they love to score.
Next: Sunday, 11:00 am, McCully gym. Shooting practice, conditioning work. A lot of basics. A lot of reps. WE LUB THIS GAME!
