Fundraiser, trip update 6/25

Some info on fundraisers, the road trip and more.

• Sam's Town - Yes, we have two complimentary breakfast buffets while we're there, exactly two per room. That won't give us free breakfasts every day, but it's really nice to have.

• Chevron Kahala - I called, was instructed to see the website, and the rules are very, very clear. Nobody younger than 15 can be involved in a car wash there. Also, the organization must have non-profit status (we don't have that yet). And one of the other rules is that there must be at least eight people washing and eight people drying the car, and at least two people on the sidewalk with signs, basically. It's very specific and very profitable, from what I hear. But unless our 15U and 17U step up and come to the fundraisers — the cost for their league/tournament entry fees this year is more than $4,000 — we don't have the manpower.

ALSO ... the lady on the phone said the wait list is 6-7 months. I followed the website instructions and e-mailed them. Hopefully, they can slot us in. It would be awesome once we get the manpower. They only charge $50 for the fee. McCully Union charges $325.

• McCully Union — I called this morning and they said the Sunday July 7 date is open. Unless I hear from a lot of parents about other commitments and plans, I'll sign us up for that date. It'll be great to make more money before we fly out a few days later.
