H1 Thunder vs. Sabers (Campbell), St. Francis Varsity Summer League, Thursday, May 23, 2013, St. Francis High School Gym.
Varsity: Sabers 39, Thunder 36, OT
It was a tough battle, a struggle all night. The Sabers were bigger than us and their bigs were quick and fast. But we led in the final minutes, but had some tough breaks with the ball. Isaiah had a good look below the elbow for a game-winning shot, but it was short at the buzzer, and we went into OT.
In OT, they hit a big 3 (their only one of the game and later we were down 3 when Isaiah stole an inbounds pass and found Jerry in the corner for a 3-point try, but he missed as the buzzer sounded. Jerry and everybody worked hard tonight, so I'm pretty content even though we lost.
Props to the Sabers. They hustle non-stop and our guys were maybe a little tired after playing last night. We're 1-1, a bunch of games in the next two weeks. The top two teams will play for the title. But we're in playoff mode mentally right now. One game at a time. WE LUB THIS GAME!
