It's official (kinda). Thunder 13U are registered to play in the Swoosh Las Vegas Classic, July 5-7.
We haven't paid the entry fee yet, but the tournament has responded via e-mail to confirm our entry (online).
We have to hit the fundraising trail real hard now. Auntie Char is working on a car wash in June, plus cookie fundraiser. I'm exploring other options, too, like maybe Zippy's chili tickets.
Our parents have a lot of great ideas, so we'll try as many as we can. Cost of going to Las Vegas for a tourney is in the $9,300 range for 10 people. (California is a bit more expensive - air fare.)
And though this is a long shot, I still hope we can actually play in two tournaments. First in Vegas, then in Colorado July 12-14 (MAYB Tournament, Arvada/West Denver), where our friends Daniel and Keanu Vela live. We could take a Southwest Airlines flight north from Vegas to Denver for $100 per person, and that price gets as low as $40 sometimes, from what I hear. Then fly back to Vegas for that low rate, then return to Hawaii.
WE LUB THIS GAME!
