Howzit everybody. We've got four tough games left on the schedule before the KAC Thunder season wraps up. It's been a lot of hard work and a lot of fun along the way. Having four more games is pretty cool because we'll continue to work hard and have lots of fun. Hopefully, we'll continue to improve every day.
Looking beyond this current season, I was chatting with an old teammate (Kaimuki High School) today on Facebook, Greydon Espinda. He's an OIA referee these days. He is currently running a 13-under league called CAL. They use a 30-second clock, which I like a lot!
Greydon invited us to play in the 15-under league, which has its first game on August 22, which is 3 weeks after the KAC league closes. There are six of our players that are eligible, so let's talk about it and see how many of you want to play in the CAL league. I know some of you guys have said that you wish this team could stay together. Well, here's your chance.
It's an invitation-only league and only 6 teams will be invited.
The CAL games are on Sundays, which is great for my schedule, which will be busy once the school year starts. All games will be at McKinley High School. There's an entry fee of $400, which is not too bad if we split the cost among 8 or 10 players. Jerseys are another issue, but I've got an idea and we'll talk about that, too.
See you guys at practice today.
Schedule
Thursday: practice, 4:30 p.m., Kahala Park
Friday: practice, 4:30 p.m., Kapaolono Park
Saturday: No practice, but some players said they'll go to Kahala Park to have a shootaround anyway
Sunday: Pre-game 3 p.m., Game 4 p.m., Kalani High School
