Another close game down to the final shot. Kapaa's tough 3-point shot at the buzzer missed.
We stayed close all game long, though we trailed the whole way. In All-Net, our roster is limited due to the no-double roster rule, but with just 7 players in this game, everybody got lots of playing time.
We trailed 20-18 at halftime and lost the game by 3 even though most of the guys haven't played with each other before aside from one game and one practice. That's why I'm optimistic about this group, even with half of the guys missing for various reasons.
I say that because even though the new guys are so fresh, they are very coachable and they hustle their tails off. And they have talent. We have some basic things to work on, and once we get there, we'll have more chemistry. The 8 or 10 points we gave away early in the second half will turn into 8 or 10 points we'll score on layups soon enough. Just need to work on our pressbreaker and a few other things.
Like our roster in OBL, this group is mostly 14U, yet we're competing with everyone.
Next: Sunday, 11:00 am - Shooting practice at McCully gym.
