15U: No game Friday morning

This just in from NJB All-Net: 15-under Thunder have no game on Friday morning. The league commissioner e-mailed me and said he's off-island and will check on the schedule when he gets back tomorrow (Thursday).

I suspected something wasn't right with the schedule since our game was only one listed for Friday morning, and it had been a rescheduled game already. The league said we probably have a 15U game on Saturday. Please bear with the league. They have about 60 teams in four age groups, so it gets tough sometimes.

Talked with Greydon Espinda, the commissioner of the CAL League. He said that the league, which begins in early June, will use grade levels as the requirement, not exact birthdates. That means that everyone who is currently a sophomore can play. That's great news for you guys who have already turned 16, like Mickey. CAL still has one rule, though. If you're a sophomore, but turn 17 before the league starts, you can't play.

So keep that in mind: CAL League, sophomores can play. Woohoo!
