Kalaepohaku 52, H1 Thunder 32 (PAA 8th Grade)

Massive mahalo to Ko'olau Anderson for filming today's game. Our 5th graders Haden and Ebomb suited up.

We battled from a 7-0 deficit and tied it at 7, fell behind and cut it to 27-20 early in the second half.

Shorthanded today with six Thunder Pups on trips or at church or playing in another league. Ebomb filled in and did a solid job. However, Kalaepokahu had 3 collisions with Haden. He got hit on the head, and also has a sore calf now after the last one he didn't play in the second half, so our guys had no subs. He gutted it out the best he could. I'm proud of our 5th graders (Haden, Ebomb) and 6th grader (DJ).

DJ shot fairly well. Kona made almost every shot, but he only took 5 or 6. I'm waiting for our 8th graders to turn the corner. Noel hesitated early in the game, but was much bolder later. This was his best effort at attacking the rim.

Zachary didn't attack the basket against their man defense. He and Kona combined took maybe 7-8 shots. Not enough.

Just a few more games left in PAA, which ends in late April. Then CAL resumes in May, and JV summer leagues in June. Time for everyone to step up and train every day. Back at it with practice soon. #h1thunder
