Tanielu and Chris were raring to go by Saturday morning. I had to slow them down at practice to save their legs for Sunday (13U) and Monday (17U) games. We had a good workout. Sierra, Cody, John, Chase, Tanielu, Chris ... and Jerson. It was great to see him back at practice again, and in the nick of time. Our 13U is low on numbers, so getting him back is timely. He was, today, just like he's always been: a focused, fast learner.
We went over our new plays: 2K, McDouble and Frenchy. Then we worked on a few new defenses. Maybe we'll use them against the Tar Heels. Maybe not. But it's always better to be prepared rather than underprepared.
Big thank you (again) to Coach Roy for bringing our Kalihi boys to practice and taking them home. Also, mahalos to Ron (Chase's dad) and Eric (Sierra's dad) for treating the team to shave ice and lunch on a hot day.
Game day is here. Let's work hard and play hard!
Game is 2:30 pm at Kilauea gym. Warmups 1:30 pm.
Then we'll have practice (for the 15U and 17U) after that, 4:30 pm at Makiki Park. Then dinner.
17U plays on Monday, 8:15 pm, Kaimuki Park gym against Lanakila. Be there by 7:00 pm for warmups on the outside court.
17U plays on Wednesday, 7:00 pm, Kilauea Gym against the Dolphins. Be there by 6:00 for warmups outside court.
