One down, two to go

First of three games for the weekend has passed. Good effort against Kalihi Valley, boys. It wasn't pretty, but we made enough plays on defense (a lot of steals, but sometimes guys were too slow getting back on defense) and hit just enough shots to get past a good team. We've been fortunate to win. We just haven't improved a whole lot in one month. It's like this...

The rate of your improvement as a team will depend on how often you practice together as a team and on your own time. It's that simple.

You will become a very good team IF you come to practice AND put in the daily work to become a truly good player on off days. No excuses. At least 200 shots (3s, mid-range pull-up jumpers, layups), plus 50 free throws, every day. Can you do it? Do you want to become a very good player and a very good team? Or is it OK to let other teams outrebound us? Or outshoot us at the line?

Are you content to be slightly better than average? Or do you have the courage to strive for greatness?

That's my challenge to you.

  1. Guys, if you keep standing around- shooting stupid shots- not making layups- and not getting back on defense- im gunna flip.
