Wind died down for most of the afternoon at Makiki Park, but we saved shooting drills for post-practice. Got a lot of rep work done with halfcourt offense, especially crucial for our newer Thunder. It's a bummer than we have only one practice this week because I have to work, but that'll change after this week. Reps make a big difference and being able to go 5-on-5 is key to learning as a team.
Our experienced Thunder continue to show great patience and leadership in their quiet, yet confident ways. We got a lot done today. Michael, Jhevin, Chaz, Trinity and Jance got a lot of extra shooting reps in after practice, a good 25 minutes. Michael consistently hit 8 to 9 treys from each spot (60 seconds. So did Jhevin, who hit a high of 13 in one spot. On fire.
Good work, Thunder!

Next:
Tuesday - No practice.
Wednesday - No practice. I have to work at the state softball tourney, but if any of our dads can show up at 5:00 pm, we can have optional shooting drills.
Thursday, 6:40 pm - Stretching/warmups at Lanakila gym outside court. 7:40 pm - H1 Thunder vs. Just Play (Ikaika Intermediate League playoff).
Friday - No practice.
Saturday, 6:30 pm - Stretching/warmups at McCully gym outside court. 7:30 pm - H1 Thunder vs. LBC (Ikaika JV League playoff). **Note: I have to work again on a Saturday night - state volleyball championships. My boss has been as helpful as possible and I work the 5:00 pm D-II title match. This means I can probably make it to the game, but we need help with transportation again (for Tani, Chris, Felcris). Please let me know if you can help pick them up. I'll take them home after the game. MAHALO smile emoticon
Sunday, 3:00 pm - FT Challenge. Please help the cause and collect your FT Challenge Sponsors. See me for the forms or let me know and I'll e-mail them to you. Goal is for every player to sign up at least 10 sponsors at $1 per free throw. We raised $2,000 last year thanks to everyone's hustle. That went a long way towards league fees, uniforms, basketballs, travel costs and more.
This is our best fundraiser, much more practical than a car wash ($400 rent).
PLEASE KOKUA, THUNDER.
