Holiday Hoopla

It's the middle of December (kind of) and so many of our Thunder ballers are part of the high school action.

>> Kyle's team, McKinley, beat Konawaena on Thursday and is now in the semifinals of the Pete Smith Classic at Kalaheo. Everyone tells me how surprised they are about McKinley, but if they'd seen the Tigers early in preseason, the pieces were coming together. Fast team with good basketball IQ, a year older and wiser. That means they're finishing games much better this season, and I dare say that a certain freshman named Kyle Moraga is a nice part of that big step forward by Coach Omori's golden Tigers.

>> Kapaa is listed at 6-foot-1 on the Kalani roster, and better than that, he's got a key role in their rotation, playing lots of minutes. He's the only freshman on the Falcons varsity roster, and he's learning and adapting nicely. It's a great situation for Kapaa, and Coach Davis is so good at molding a team together. They are fun to watch and dangerous to play against.

>> Jared is busy with Roosevelt's tournaments. Last time it was the Kailua tournament. Now it's the ‘Iolani Classic. He got a few minutes here and there, a lot of trust by Coach Hathaway.

We've got three busy freshmen playing varsity basketball, but if anybody had seen our guys playing in Kalani's summer varsity league the past couple of years, they would know that so many of our guys were ready already. AWESOME.
