Everything I expected from the Kalani Falcons was about right. I knew they gave Laie a tough, low-scoring game. I knew they got beat solid by the Titans. They had us on the ropes, up 26-16 at one point. Good ballhandlers. A couple of effective, tall posts who crashed the offensive boards well.
But I knew if we kept the pressure on, kept the pace up, something would give. Our guys (and girl) never stopped hustling defensively. But we started flat and that worried me because of what I'd seen in recent games. Fatigue? Once we got the intensity level and pace going on offense — to match our defense — we rallied.
Tonight's lineup: Sierra, Jimark, Jared, Sifo, Keanu, Tanielu, Kyle, Tone
This win clinches a spot in the championship bracket now that we've secured second place in our pool. Fun times ahead! Good work, Thunder.
