OK, everybody, I need direct and immediate feedback from you on the two July tournaments we are planning to enter for 17U.
• Kona Stingrays Tournament, July 7-10 (Thursday-Sunday). This tourney is well-run by the Awa ohana, my old friends from my Kona days. A team from Kentucky is in the tourney. Sweet. They've reserved a spot for us, but I need to know exactly who's serious about going. We're going to fundraise for this.
• NJB Hawaii Summer Classic, July 13-17 (Wednesday-Sunday). This tourney was just announced Tuesday night and I am about to sign us up. Entry fee is not cheap, $325, but I'll pay it and we'll have fundraisers to cover all these costs. I just want to be sure that we have enough guys 17 and under ready and willing to ball for five days straight. In addition, we'll probably have one or two 15U games that weekend in the CAL League. Fun and busy. Are you up for it?
Let me know. I want to get us some game uniforms before the tournaments, even before the CAL League (15U), which begins in early June. Everybody knows the CAL League from last fall and the use of shot clocks. But I also think of it as a quality league with good leadership (Greydon Espinda), so I'm looking forward to that.
Let me know what you think, everybody.
