Masterful mahalo to TJ Barrientos for filming this game. He's feeling under the weather but was kind enough to shoot the video. Coach Eddie came to then gsme after having his eye surgery yesterday. Thank you, ke Akua, for blessing him with a good doctor and your healing touch.
The game was a battle and we pulled away for an 18-8 lead at halftime. Stretched the lead open a bit before Storm rallied back and cut the lead to 8. We were tough defensively and executed against their man defense often. Emic, Eisley, Avari, Caleb with solid defensive pressure. EZ, Haden, DJ crashed the boards.
Our pressbreaker was messy, so well keep doing reps at practice until we get this down. Mental discipline is a big factor for our 5th graders when they face 6th graders. It takes time.
