It is, in essence, the original Beautiful Game. While the design is wonderful DNA, the guts of the system is work ethic. Like anything else, nothing worth working for is acquired without blood, sweat and tears, and not necessarily in this order.

Supreme mahalo to Cinematographer Ethan "Ebomb" Horita for filming this and earlier games today. Our 4th Grade lost a true 4th Grade and under game for the first time since last summer. I believe that's 16 wins in a row.. (Our team in PAA League allows 2 novice-level players on each 4th Grade roster. In leagues and tournaments that allow two 5th grade exemptions, our streak was 22 wins until earlier today when we lost at PAA League.)
We were 5 strong for this one with TJ (church activities) and Dylan (speed and quickness clinic) unavailable. We opened the lead to 19-9, and Miki was outstanding as the cover man on the Bearcats best scorer.
Fatigue set in, however. Bearcats took the lead on a fastbreak shot, and our last chance ended with a slip on a drive from the corner in the final seconds. Some of our guys were in tears afterward. Hopefully they know we are extremely proud of them. I told them so. They played with incredible heart and courage. Amac hurting his left wrist and toughed it out. Eisley and Avari worked together against their 1-2-2 zone. Riley played the entire game, the first time a 2nd grader has done that with our Thunder.
Winning streaks are great, but the bond that these Pups have built as a tough, unwavering and unselfish team team is up there with any Thunder team we've ever had.
Our PAA 4th lost earlier in the day, so technically, the win streak is over at 22. Time for a new one. #h1thunder #oneteam #thunderohana #workhardplayhard
