My estimate is we took about 30 3-point shots, almost all open and highly make-able. If we shoot 30% (slightly below average) on those, we win this game easily.
Maybe the misses were due to fatigue from earlier games (Aiea tourney, Maryknoll JV league) on Saturday. Maybe it was the busy week (12 games combined since Monday). Maybe we were just off this afternoon. For me, seeing the team improve was the most important aspect. Whether we have a full lineup or not, improvement is always prized.
So we finished pool play 0-3 and will start consolation play in the morning, 9:00 am. If we win, we play again at 12:20. If we lose, pau.
Let's win :)
Lineup: Josh Roberts, Josh M DE Jesus, Javan Montiho, Micah Visoria, Colin Ramos, Ryan Higashionna, Kali'a Mielke, Gabriel Porras, Felcris Jay Corpuz Ahadain.
Keep improving, Thunder. The shots will fall eventually. Defense and effort should always be constant. We are getting there.
Kali‘a played most of the game despite a sore lower back. I wasn't planning on playing him, but his mom gave the OK and he insisted. I doubt he plays on Sunday. Better off resting the back for a few days.
Thanks to Ray Ramos for shooting the game video!
Next: Sunday, 9:00 am - Thunder vs. Hoops4Christ (Aiea Intermediate Tournament). Hoping for a full turnout for the final two games on Sunday.
