Aiea League to allow 8th graders

Aiea League has changed format from 13U to 8th-grade and younger. In other words, it's now an "intermediate league." That means Kyle Moraga, Kali'a Mielke, Manoa Kualii Moe are now eligible to play in that league. Same with all the teams, so it's going to be some strong competition. Games are on Saturdays 9 am to 1 pm, starting Dec. 28.

From Rob Godinez of the Aiea League:

Aloha Coaches,
Sorry for the delay but league packets will be sent out on Monday. However, because of some requests or confusion with age cut-off, we will run all leagues and tournaments (hosted by Aiea Blazers) by grade levels! Therefore, Our 13U league will now be an Intermediate League (8th grade & under). Grade level as of 2013-2014 school year. A copy of school ID or transcript to show proof of grade will be required.
Hopefully this will eliminate all problems with "late birthdays" and/or "foreign birth years"....and whatever!
Please respond to this email ASAP to confirm participation in the league which starts on Dec. 28 and will be $400 per team. Again, all other info will be included in the league packet that will be sent out on Monday.
Mahalo,
Rob
