We finished tied with Sharks in our pool. They get the top seed from our pool based on tiebreaker (head to head).

Our quarterfinal game is tomorrow (Saturday), 5:50 pm, at McCully gym against Kiawe Heat, the 3rd-place team from the other pool. Tough team, always battling. I will be stuck at work in Kahuku. Coach Seth Mckinney and/or Coach David Shinbara will coach you. You will be fine. Probably will play your best basketball, as often is the case when Seth and David are coaching.

New season ahead. Our Pups have worked so hard to get better. They earned this shot to win the championship. #h1thunder #greatteammates

Huuuuge mahalo to Pono for filming this one. The video will help us get better.

Good defensive teamwork today against a dangerous 3-point shooting team. Hustle saved us offensively. 

Warriors had great heart and hustle defensively. We had at least 15 turnovers because we didn't use fakes. Forced the ball instead of starting the offense with good spacing. Simple as that. 

Good news is we are 6-1 heading into the playoffs. We have LOTS of room to improve. Our 8th Grade Pups have good work ethic, but hopefully nobody misses practice again as we prepare for the playoffs. The title is there for the taking.

The game against Bearcats has been postponed. New date/time will be announced later. 

Wednesday practice cancelled 9/26/18

Not raining hard, but the lack of sun would make it tough for the courts to dry up fast enough. Plus, forecast is not favorable. Practice cancelled today.

Everyone please do your push-ups and crunches :)

It appears we have clinched a playoff spot. Currently third place in our pool. We have a game against first-place MS Spartans coming up. A win gives us a better seed for the playoffs. It's been quite a run. Let's keep rising!

Ikaika 8th Grade update: Tied for 1st

Our H1 Thunder 8th Grade Pups are 5-1, tied in first place with the Sharks with one game left before the playoffs. The tiebreaker is point differential (see rules on website), and right now we have a higher +/- than the Sharks. We play the Warriors (4-2) this week. Sharks play H4C (3-3). After that, the championship bracket playoffs begin. WOOHOO!!

Ikaika 6th Grade update: Thunder tied for 1st

With the 38-37 win over previous front-runner Hi Level Hoops last night, our H1 Thunder are now tied with Hi Level and K-Bay Ballers for first place at 4-2. That was a clutch win, and there are four more games until the playoffs. Only the top 2 teams will qualify for the championship game.

It's not a bracket format. Just the top 2 play one game for the title. Let's gohhhhhh!!!

2018 REBOOT

Always thinking about practical, time-saving ways to keep the H1 Thunder family connected and updated. Looks like I'll post all news here and FB instead of just FB. I will group text links rather than 1) nothing, or 2) entire schedules and posts.

I also plan on updating the league results (at right) since the last entry in Oct 2018. Boy, that's going to be roughly 600 scores and video links. It'll take a long time, but I'll get there.

If anyone wants to help with archiving scores and links, please let me know and I'll get you admin access. WOOHOOO :)
